For Elderly and Infirm Jesuits

 

 

 

As the sole, officially-authorized fundraising organization of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus operating under U.S. laws in the United States, the Philippine Jesuit Foundation (PJF) will invite, encourage, and receive cash donations for Jesuits and Jesuit works in the Philippines principally through the following activities:

  • The construction and maintenance of an official webpage of the PJF, namely, www.philjesuit.net. The PJF webpage, or philjesuit, will (a) provide updated information on Jesuits and Jesuit works in the Philippines; (b) publish messages from the Provincial Superior and the Treasurer of the Society of Jesus in the Philippines, as well as of the Executive Secretary of PJF; (c) inform support groups of the current monthly foci of fundraising efforts in support of particular Jesuits or Jesuit works in the Philippines; (d) publish corresponding letters of appeal from concerned Jesuits or Jesuit works; (e) publish the letters of acknowledgement and gratitude from the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus or the beneficiary Jesuits or Jesuit works; (f) provide lists of Friends of the Society of Jesus.

  • At least one annual benefit event at a time and place to be determine by the Board of Trustees.

  • Communication with specific donors or prospective donors through letter, pamphlets, newsletters or personal visits.

  • Coordination with the Jesuit Superiors and Directors of Work during their bi-annual (January and July) meetings in the Philippines to animate target-specific fundraising.

  • Organization of the Friends of Jesuits in the Philippines who shall donate regularly to the PJF.

  • Passive investment of funds in the U.S.

The targets of the PJF fundraising efforts shall be the following:

  • The relatives and friends of Filipino and American Jesuits in the Philippines now residing in the U.S.;

  • Alumni/ae of Jesuit Universities and Schools in the Philippines now residing in the U.S.;

  • • Non-Government Organization and Funding Agencies (e.g. the Koch Foundation, the Luce Foundation) interested in collaborating with Jesuit works in the Philippines;

  • Schools, universities or their organizations supportive of Jesuit schools and universities in the Philippines;

  • Donors who have contributed regularly in support of Jesuits and/or Jesuit works in the Philippines through the formerly-existing Jesuit Seminary and Mission Bureau, Inc. under the direction of the New York Province of the Society of Jesus.
